chalet style, designed for entertainment and comfort
Los Altos, CA

A gorgeous pool with ample seating areas and gourmet barbecue lends itself for everyone in the family to enjoy the outdoor space. From intimate cocktail parties, to full on backyard bashes – the only requirement is that guests come ready for some fun!

The layout of this carefully-thought space ensures ease of flow for seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor living.

The exposed ridge beams, divided by the soffit, help create a space within a space for a more intimate feel. These beautiful beams extend into the adjacent hallway for added flow and architectural interest.

This gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream! The custom-made, end-cut butcher block prep island is a subtle addition and a must-have for a kitchen this size. The larger island holds its own as a timeless piece of furniture with a leveled up look.

Enter into this vast, open concept room and your attention and interest will be swept upward to the exposed ceiling beams. We anchored the kitchen and living room together with matching wrought iron chandeliers so the rooms could remain separate with a distinct connection. We also added clerestory windows near the top of the ceiling for detail as well as a feeling of openness and ample light during the day.

Our client wanted a ski chalet style and feel in the living room space, so we added stacked stone and wood benches to his inglenook fireplace for an intimate feeling in this vast space.

The wine cellar in this home is visible from the stairway. We took this unique element and accentuated it, bringing it into the whole design by adding commercial glass and exposing the beautiful modern wine rack display.

A custom wine rack holds endless possibilities. It can go into a space, be it small or large and have the diversity of any shape you can imagine. Bottles of wine double as art. In this space, we mirrored the stairs by placing wine blocks in a step down pattern. This brings in a cohesive feel with the stairs and makes for ease in accessing the wine cellar.

This commercial grade Ridgelight was strategically placed over the stairwell to add a sense of architectural structure to match the exposed beams. It’s functional and beautiful as it increases light in the space.
